Greetings on the Solemnity of Blessed Mary, Mother of God

With greetings and thanks for your prayers on this solemnity of Our Lady (a day of obligation in Canada). At St. Thomas More in Toronto (STM), we celebrated the Vigil Sung Mass last evening (Dec. 31) at 5:00 pm with the beautiful Victoria Mass setting: "O Magnum Mysterium"; thanks once again to Peter Mahon and his excellent choir.

With a very busy December of 2013 which included, for me, two ordination celebrations in addition to Advent, Christmas and now Epiphany liturgies as administrator and parish priest in the relatively new STM Catholic Church, you will not be surprised that this blog has been quiescent.

I plan to post a number of updates relating to our small but growing community at STM. First there will be posts with the texts of some homilies upon which people have commented and expressed interest in the text. These homilies are not copy edited for publication but are really the working texts of a parish priest.

Having said this, I invite your comments and corrections.  There is a sharp learning curve for all priests in new situations so your prayers along with your comments are most welcome.

Happy New Year to all from the snowy streets of Toronto!
